- 1 ½ - 2 cups shredded chicken breast*
- 1 ½ cup pepper jack cheese, divided*
- ½ cup hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot Original)
- 4 ounces full fat brick style cream cheese
- ⅓ cup full fat sour cream
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon dill weed
- fresh chives or blue cheese crumbles, for garnishing
In a large microwave safe bowl, add the chicken, about 1 cup of the cheese, hot sauce, cream cheese, sour cream, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic, pepper, and dill weed. Microwave for about 60 seconds.
Stir until well combined. Heat in 30 second intervals as needed to make combining easier.
Transfer to a 7 inch oven safe dish or air fryer cake barrel. Cover tightly with foil. Air fry at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until hot.
Uncover & sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Air fry again at 400 degrees for another 2-3 minutes or until the top is bubbling and lightly golden brown.
Garnish with fresh chives. Serve hot.
- Chicken Breast: You can use leftover chicken breast or rotisserie chicken. If you are making fresh chicken, you will need about 2 small raw boneless skinless chicken breasts. Season lightly with salt and pepper and steam or bake. Shred and measure out 1 ½ - 2 cups of chicken. It is important to measure the chicken once cooked because breasts vary in size significantly.
- Pepper Jack: I like the extra kick the pepper jack adds. You can also use cheddar or monterey jack cheese.
- Microwave. This makes the cream cheese and other ingredients much easier to mix. It will also help the dip heat up faster in the air fryer.
- Cover. Be sure to cover the dish with foil or the top will burn before the middle is hot.
- Save some cheese for topping. The crispy golden cheese on top is my favorite part.
