Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings, drumsticks & flats
  • 2 teaspoons Morton kosher salt*
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2-3 Tablespoon hot sauce or buffalo sauce
  • 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • cup 1 ounce finely grated parmesan cheese*

Instructions

  • Pat the wings dry using a paper towel. In a large bowl, toss the wings, salt, pepper, and baking powder until well combined. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
2 pounds chicken wings, drumsticks & flats, 2 teaspoons Morton kosher salt*, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • Air fry for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
  • While the wings air fry, in a clean large bowl, stir together the melted butter, hot sauce, garlic, and parmesan. Set aside.
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted, 2-3 Tablespoon hot sauce or buffalo sauce, 2 teaspoons granulated garlic, ⅓ cup 1 ounce finely grated parmesan cheese*
  • Flip the wings and lightly spray with oil if they look dry.
  • Air fry for another 12-14 minutes or until the wings are golden brown. Air fry longer if needed.
  • Place the wings in the large bowl with the butter mixture and toss well. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Kosher Salt: All of my recipes are tested with Morton kosher salt unless noted otherwise. It is the best salt for everyday cooking because of its size and flavor. If using table salt, the amount should be reduced. I highly recommend picking up some kosher next time you are at the store!
  • Parmesan: Use a good quality cheese, like parmigiano reggiano, for this air fryer garlic parmesan wings recipe. Since the sauce is simple, it's essential to use good-quality ingredients. Ensure you pick cheese in a block so you can grate it yourself.
  • Use good quality parmesan. As mentioned, the seasoning for these wings is quite simple, so it's necessary to use good quality ingredients (like parmesan). Ensure you purchase a kind that is not pre-shredded.
  • Pat the wings dry. Drying the wings before seasoning them helps them crisp up in the air fryer. Do not skip this step for air fryer garlic parmesan wings, or your wings won’t be as crispy.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer. For the wings to properly cook in the air fryer, they need enough space. Ensure the wings are placed with some space between each wing so the hot air can cook each side (and crisp up the skin). If needed, cook the wings in batches.
  • Toss while hot. Before serving the wings, toss them in the butter mixture. Then, serve immediately. Don’t let the sauce sit on the wings too long, or it can make them soggy.
