    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Easy - If your oven/stovetop is full, this recipe is great because all you need is your air fryer and a microwave safe bowl. Plus it only takes about 30 minutes to make.
    • Cheesy - This recipe is loaded with cream cheese and pepper jack.
    • Spicy - The combination of the pepper jack and hot sauce give this dip a kick.
    • Creamy - The sour cream and cream cheese prevent this dip from drying out.
    • Flavorful - The spices take this dip to the next level. The dill, garlic, and onion give it that signature ranch dressing flavor.
    • Loaded with chicken - This recipe is heavy on shredded chicken. This dip is super high in fat and protein making it low carb, keto friendly, and gluten-free.
    • Perfect for game day - This dip is perfect for small gatherings or parties, especially Super Bowl Sunday.

    Ingredients & Substitutions

    • Chicken Breast: You can use leftover chicken breast or rotisserie chicken. If you are making fresh chicken, you will need about 2 small raw boneless skinless chicken breasts. Season lightly with salt and pepper and steam or bake. Shred and measure out 1 ½ - 2 cups of chicken. It is important to measure the chicken once cooked because breasts vary in size significantly.
    • Pepper Jack: I like the extra kick the pepper jack adds. You can also use cheddar or monterey jack cheese.

How to Make Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Dip

    Step by Step Instructions

If the ingredients are too cold to mix, continue microwaving in 20 second increments until they come together.

Step 1: In a large microwave safe bowl, add the chicken, about 1 cup of the cheese, hot sauce, cream cheese, sour cream, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic, pepper, and dill weed. Microwave for about 60 seconds.

Step 2: Stir until well combined. Heat in 30 second intervals as needed to make combining easier.

Step 3: Transfer to a 7 inch oven safe dish or air fryer cake barrel. Cover tightly with foil. Air fry at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until hot.

Step 4: Uncover & sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

Step 5: Air fry again at 400 degrees for another 2-3 minutes or until the top is bubbling and lightly golden brown.

Step 6: Garnish with fresh chives. Serve hot.

What Is Good to Dip in Buffalo Chicken Dip?

You can dip just about anything in this buffalo chicken dip and it will taste good. Here are some of my favorite vessels:

    • Tortilla chips
    • Potato chips
    • Pita chips
    • Crackers
    • Crostini
    • Warm bread
    • Celery
    • Carrots
    • Cauliflower
    • Broccoli

    Expert Tips & Variations

    • Microwave. This makes the cream cheese and other ingredients much easier to mix. It will also help the dip heat up faster in the air fryer.
    • Cover. Be sure to cover the dish with foil or the top will burn before the middle is hot.
    • Save some cheese for topping. The crispy golden cheese on top is my favorite part.

    Recipe FAQs

What is buffalo chicken dip made of?

It is typically made of chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and ranch/sour cream.

How do you reheat buffalo chicken dip in an air fryer?

Reheat in an air fryer safe dish at 400 degrees covered until heated through. The time will vary depending on the amount you are reheating. It can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes. However, I recommend reheating in the microwave. It is much faster and will not dry out.

Why is my buffalo chicken dip runny?

Too much sour cream or not enough chicken was added. This will cause the dip to have excess moisture.
