Use smaller sausages or cut each sausage in half to create proportionate pigs in a blanket.

Step 1: Cut each sausage in half lengthwise and crosswise creating 4 pieces per link (16 total).

Step 2: Unroll all of the crescents. Place one of the crescent triangle on a plate or cutting board.

Step 3: Place the sausage on the widest side.

Step 4: Roll the sausage towards the narrow end of the triangle. (See photos above.)

Use parchment paper to help prevent the rolls from sticking to the air fryer basket.

Step 5: Tuck the ends of the crescent roll in. Repeat with the remaining sausages.

Step 6: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, mustard, and everything bagel seasoning.

Step 7: Place a piece of parchment paper in your air fryer basket. Place about 6 or so rolls on the parchment paper so they are not touching. Brush generously with the glaze.

Step 8: Air fry at 310 degrees for 10-12 minutes, checking them after about 8 minutes. Flip if the tops are getting too brown.

Recipe Serving Suggestions

Garnish these air fryer pigs in a blanket with extra everything bagel seasoning, fresh parsley, or garlic butter.

I love serving these tasty pigs in a blanket with a yummy dipping sauce for extra flavor. Here are a few ideas:

Expert Tips

  • Every air fryer cooks differently, so be sure to check the pigs in a blanket. Like most air fryer recipes, the pigs in a blanket air fryer time will vary depending on your appliance. Check them around the six-minute mark and see if they need additional time. When ready, the crescent rolls should be golden brown and fully cooked (not doughy).
  • Use flavorful sausage. Since this air fryer pigs in a blanket recipe is so simple, it’s important to use flavorful sausage to provide a bold taste. You can use any sausage flavor, from spicy to sweet, with this recipe.
  • Don’t skip the glaze. Besides the sausage, the glaze adds quite a bit of flavor to this dish. Skipping the glaze means you’ll be missing out on the spicy, sweet, buttery taste.

Additions & Variations

  • Try different flavors or types of sausage – If you don’t want to use pork sausage, you can also use chicken or turkey sausage. Don’t be afraid to try different sausage flavors for this air fryer pigs in a blanket dish.
  • Use sauces for extra flavor – Serve these pigs in a blanket alongside dipping sauce for additional flavor. You can serve them with anything from ketchup to a spicy aioli.
  • Try this recipe with puff pastry – If you can’t find crescent rolls at the store, you can use puff pastry instead. It offers a flakier texture than crescents. Puff pastry typically comes in sheets, which you can slice diagonally to create triangles for this recipe. Once sliced, follow the above recipe as noted. There are typically two puff pastry slices per box (equal to four crescent rolls). Use four boxes to replace two cans of crescent rolls.
