    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Easy - These can be assembled in less than 5 minutes.
    • Made in the air fryer - No need to heat the oven or stove. These bake from start to finish in the air fryer.
    • Simple ingredients - This recipe is made with pantry staples that you likely already have on hand.
    • Lightly sweetened - The blackberries are tossed with a little sugar to bring out their natural sweetness.
    • Buttery - The salted butter in the biscuit topping gives it a delicious flavor that compliments the sweetness.
    • Fresh or frozen - This recipe works with fresh or frozen blackberries. I actually prefer to use frozen.
    • Kid friendly - Who doesn’t love warm cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top?

Instead of ramekins you can use one 6 or 7 inch cake pan or oven safe dish.

Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, fold the blackberries, brown sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and cinnamon until completely combined.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, flour, sugar, and baking powder until completely combined.

Step 3: Place 4 (7 ounce) ramekins in the air fryer basket and grease with spray oil or melted butter.

Step 4: Divide the blackberries between the 4 ramekins.

Serve with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Step 5: Divide the biscuit topping between the 4 ramekins.

Step 6: Air fry at 320 degrees for 19-21 minutes, checking halfway through. Cover loosely with foil if the topping is starting to brown. The filling should be hot and bubbly.

    Recipe Serving Suggestions

These individual cobblers are best served hot and fresh. Top them with my favorite homemade No Egg Vanilla Ice Cream. Store-bought works too!

You can also serve them with freshly whipped cream. Using an electric mixer to beat 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 Tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until stiff peaks form.

    Expert Tips & Variations

    • Use salted butter. The little bit of salt in the butter really brings out the sweetness and other flavors.
    • Check the cobblers halfway through. Every air fryer cooks differently so be sure to check on them as they cook. I usually cover them loosely with foil around the 10 minute mark. All of my recipes are tested in the Cosori 5.8QT.
    • Store leftovers in the fridge. Allow the cobbler to cool on the counter and then cover them with foil and transfer to the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave.

    Recipe FAQs

How long do you cook a blackberry cobbler in the air fryer?

Air fry for 19-21 minutes at 320 degrees. Be sure to check the cobbler at about the 10 minute mark to make sure the top is not browning too quickly. If it is, cover loosely with foil for the remaining cook time.

Do cobblers have a bottom crust?

No. Typically the base is just fruit. There is a biscuit topping layer on top of the fruit.

What is cobbler topping made of?

It is similar to a biscuit, in fact some recipes call for biscuits as the topping. This simple four  ingredient topping is made from flour, sugar, baking powder, and butter.

How do you know when a cobbler is done cooking?

The sides should be bubbling and the fruit should be jammy. You can always check to see if the middle is hot with a meat thermometer. It should be about 165-170 degrees in the center.
